Margaret’s Slippers & Boots

Margaret Swiers learnt how to make slippers and boots out of sheepskin back in ’86, when she attended a training course on a nearby farm. As one of the best students on the course, she was retained to provide items for a while. Then she was on her own. Initially she struggled but years of perseverence paid off. Now a solo businesswoman, Margaret tans her own skins, and makes the slippers and boots that customers favour. “I feel a great sense of achievement to earn my own money,” she says.
